About our name

We find that much of the complexity confronting and confounding people today is artificial, created either by individual and organizational expectations of complexity, or, by attempting to conform to external expectations of complexity. Our name was chosen to emphasize our approach.

"Occam's Razor" is the name given to a principle of analysis made popular by William of Ockham (1285-1349), an English philosopher noted for his insistence on paying close attention to language as a tool for thinking. He is considered to have laid the groundwork for modern scientific inquiry. The phrase for which he is most well known, ``Pluralitas non est ponenda sine neccesitate'' translates as "Plurality is not to be assumed without necessity" and more conversationally as "What can be done with fewer assumptions is done in vain with more." The point is that in approaching a problem, the simplest or most obvious explanation is the one that should be preferred until it is proven wrong.

Our approach is to work with and train our clients to break down complex and overwhelming situations, circumstances and interactions into their component, critical and most manageable parts. Our clients develop a facility for seeing through the artificial complexities of life and the business world and become capable of achieving their intended results faster and easier than ever before.
